Sam came to us after Kim Possible died. Sam and Spidey were bought from the same place as Kim, and originally lived with my parents. After Kim died, they asked if we wanted them and we said sure.
Sam seems to have adapted pretty well. He's not the most social of crabs, but he makes his nightly rounds to the food and water. At least he's not a pincher!
The Hermie Hut is Sam's domain. He'll occasionally share with Tony or Tiny, but Spidey II(now Ben) was told in no uncertain terms to "Get out!". That particular conversation ended up with the hut in the middle of the tank!
Sam decided to finally molt...in the middle of his hermie hut...under the three E's. Well that wasn't going to work. Sam's done now...check out his post-molt pic!
Sam has had a couple of molts since, but still refuses to vacate his painted shell. We're still trying though!
Sam finally changed shells in the new crabitat, but unfortunately succumbed to stress after an interrupted molt. R.I.P.
