Larry is one of our four E's (Ecuadorian crabs). He and his fellow stooges were rescued from Wal-Mart when they attracted my attention with their unique noise. Kind of a "squee" for lack of a better term.
He promptly lived up to his name by attacking two of my PP's (Purple Pincher) crabs to try and get in their shells, even though they weren't the right type for him.
At least he didn't do the "nose grab and paint brush move". :)
He finally settled down enough to help everyone destroy the tank that night.
Late May 2006, Larry has decided to molt. Unfortunately, one of my other crabs, Tiny, decided to steal his exo and possibly attack him. His molt seems to have gone fine, but he's lost one right side walking leg.
In July 2006, Larry was attacked by some of the other crabs. We suspect that he was either sick, or had a bad molt. The stress of the attack caused him to go "naked" and drop all but one of his legs.
I hand fed Larry for the better part of a month, and had high hopes that he would molt. However, on September 8th, Larry passed away.
