Elliot was our first adoption. I heard about him through the Hermit Crab Association (see the link at the bottom of the main page). I wasn't sure about it, but I called the fine folks at HAWS and inquired about him. Nobody had called about him, and he was in a sparse critter carrier, with a vented top (meaning no humidity). He wouldn't have lasted long like that.
So I took the kids with me, filled out the paperwork, and the rest (as they say) is history.
Elliot seems to be pretty social, and wasn't skittish about being photgraphed. Clearer pictures will come when I'm sure he's done "destressing".
Well, Elliot had been MIA for quite some time and it appears that sometime in May besides destressing he also molted! If you look at his latest pics you can see more color, and also black tips on some of his legs. Way to go Elliot.
Also...he switched out of his painted shell. I'll get pics of that when he resurfaces again!
